High Country Women's Fund

Fundraising

The High Country Women's Fund works primarily through local and county agencies and programs to help women and children in need in Avery and Watauga counties. Your dollars make this effort possible. While we welcome your direct contributions, we also organize several fundraisers a year to bring donors together for what is sure to be a party.

• Our biggest fundraiser is the annual Power of the Purse Luncheon, a wonderful event at the Blowing Rock Country Club. Guest speaker this past year was Claire Robinson of the Food Network's Five Ingredient Fix and Chef's Challenge.
• In 2011 we added Croquet for a Cause, hosted by Eseeola Lodge in Linville. This fundraiser was highly successful and sure to become an annual event. Proceeds are earmarked for our expanded efforts in Avery County.
• We're unapologetic experimenters and over the years there have been smaller fundraisers. This practice is sure to continue in our efforts expand our base of support and increase the diversity of our membership.
