Mission

A message from Margaret "Pinky" Hayden...

Our mission is to create positive change for women and their families in Avery and Watauga counties. We endeavor to inspire, educate, and empower women toward self-sufficiency by connecting them with local resources and caring women in the community.

High Country Women's Fund (HCWF) works through existing agencies and programs. The frontline workers in these organizations have the skills to recognize women with true needs and match them with the appropriate community resources. This paradigm virtually eliminates duplication of services.

To date, we have distributed $342,000 in our community. With your continued support, we will continue to fund county agencies and programs that provide a better life for more than 15,000 women and children who live in poverty in our communities.
